# **How to collect photos from event guests**

The easiest collection system is the one guests understand in a few seconds. A QR code that opens a browser upload page removes the two biggest points of friction: installing an app and creating an account.

## Set up one clear destination

Create the event before invitations or signs go to print. For a simple gathering, one album is enough. For a larger event, separate albums can keep the ceremony, dinner, and after-party organized. Each OwnPix album has its own QR code, so a guest lands in the right place without choosing a folder.

## Put the QR where the moment happens

Print an A6 card for tables, the welcome desk, or a photo area. Keep the instruction short: scan, choose photos, upload. Test the printed code from an ordinary seating distance and in the venue's actual lighting.

## Mention it twice

Show the QR early, then remind guests after the main activity when their camera rolls are full. A live slideshow can make participation visible and encourage more people to contribute.

## Plan for weak venue WiFi

Do not rely on a single perfect connection. OwnPix keeps unfinished uploads in the guest's browser and retries when the connection returns. Guests should leave the browser tab available until they see confirmation.

## Download before expiry

The host dashboard keeps albums private and provides a ZIP download. Download and back up the archive before the storage window ends. OwnPix sends warnings 30 and 7 days before expiry, followed by a 10-day recovery buffer.
