# How to Back Up Wedding Photos

Make a practical backup of photographer and guest photos after your wedding.

Guests can share from their browser, with no app to download.

Keep a backup

- Gather files
- Make another copy
- Check the files
- Keep access safe

## The short answer

Download your photos and keep more than one copy, including one somewhere separate from your main device. Check that the copies open before deleting anything.

## A simple plan

### **Gather files**

Download the photographer gallery and guest album.

### **Make another copy**

Save a copy to a separate drive or cloud service.

### **Check the files**

Open several photos and videos from each copy.

### **Keep access safe**

Record where the copies live and review them later.

## Collect everything first

Download the files from your photographer, your own phones, and the guest album. Check the event album's storage deadline and any download deadline in your photographer's agreement.

Put each source in a clearly named folder, such as “Photographer” and “Guest photos.” Keep the original files even if you later make edited selections.

## Keep copies in separate places

| **Copy** | **Example** | **Check** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Everyday copy | Your computer | Enough storage and a clear folder name |
| Separate copy | External drive | Files open when the drive is connected |
| Off-device copy | Cloud storage or a drive kept elsewhere | You can sign in or access the drive later |

Do not delete files from your phone or event album until you have checked the copies. A second copy protects against a single lost device; no storage method is useful if you cannot retrieve the files.

## Set a reminder

Revisit the backup occasionally, particularly before changing devices or cancelling a storage service. Share the location with someone you trust.

## How OwnPix helps

OwnPix collects guest photos in one event album. Download the collection before the plan’s storage period ends, then keep a separate copy.
