## First, check the app’s status

[**Pix Wedding’s account of The Guest**](https://www.pix.wedding/pix-wedding-vs-the-guest-knot) reports that the app stopped accepting new events in 2022. [**The Knot’s current app help page**](https://helpcenter.theknot.com/hc/en-us/articles/9607123004436-Does-The-Knot-have-an-app) describes its wedding planning app. The original shutdown notice was not independently available for this comparison, so treat historical dates as reported rather than a current service guarantee.

## If you used The Guest before

Check your own backups and contact The Knot for questions about an old account. Do not assume an old gallery can be restored or transferred. For a new event, test the OwnPix QR code with a friend and tell guests when the album will open.

OwnPix links can be forwarded; anyone with the event link can view the gallery when available.

## How OwnPix helps

OwnPix gives guests a QR code or link for sharing photos and videos in a browser. Choose when the album reveals and download it before your plan’s storage period ends.
