Guests can share from their browser, with no app to download.

## The short answer

The Guest was an app for automatic event photo sharing; reports say it stopped accepting new events in 2022. OwnPix, GuestPix and other QR albums let guests choose photos to share from their phones.

## A simple plan

### **Save old files**

Check your backups or ask The Knot about an old account.

### **Choose a new album**

Compare guest access and storage windows.

### **Share a fresh code**

Print and test the new QR code.

### **Download the collection**

Keep a copy before gallery access ends.

## What happened to The Guest?

[**Pix Wedding reports**](https://www.pix.wedding/the-guest-app-alternative) that The Guest stopped accepting new events in 2022. The original shutdown notice was not independently available for this guide. For an existing account, contact The Knot directly and check your backups before assuming files can be recovered.

| **Alternative** | **How guests join** | **Best for** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| OwnPix | QR code or link in a browser | A shared photo and video album with an optional reveal |
| [**GuestPix**](https://guestpix.com/weddings/) | QR code or link | An event gallery with guestbook messages |
| [**GuestCam**](https://guestcam.co/) | QR code or link | Photos and voice messages |
| [**Kululu**](https://www.kululu.com/) | QR code or link | A shared album and live photo wall |

The Guest historically used automatic sharing. With OwnPix, guests choose the files they want to upload; it does not automatically copy every photo from their camera roll.

## Give guests the new link

After choosing a service, test the upload from a phone outside your account. Send the new link to guests and explain when they can view the album. Anyone holding an OwnPix link can view the gallery when it becomes available, and the link can be forwarded.

## How OwnPix helps

OwnPix provides a QR code or link for a new event photo and video album. Guests choose what they share and can return when the gallery opens.
