How to Make a Collaborative Photo Album

Give a group one place to add photos and find them later.

Create your event

Guests can share from their browser, with no app to download.

Shared moments

The short answer

Choose an album that allows contributions, invite the people you want to include, and test an upload. Explain who can access the photos and when the album closes.

A simple plan

Choose an album

Compare the guest flow and access settings.

Invite contributors

Send one link or print the event QR code.

Test a photo

Ask someone else to try uploading.

Keep a backup

Download photos before access expires.

Choose a format for your group

Apple Shared AlbumsYour group uses Apple PhotosInvitations and options for each software version
Shared folderYour group wants files in an existing folderPermissions and who can find or change files

Test with someone who is not signed in to the host account. A link that opens for you may not give another person permission to upload.

Make the request clear

Tell people what to add, who can view it, and when you need it. For example: “Please add your favorite trip photos here by Sunday.” Ask permission before adding photos other people may consider private.

If the service has an upload or storage deadline, share the deadline and download the collection before it ends.

How OwnPix helps

OwnPix gives a group one event link or QR code to contribute photos and videos. Guests upload through their browsers, and the host can download the collection.
