Film and a QR album, side by side
| What matters | Disposable cameras | OwnPix QR album |
|---|---|---|
| What guests use | A camera with film | Their own phones |
| What you receive | Film photos after processing | Uploaded photos and videos |
| When you see it | After the film is developed | When the album opens or at the chosen reveal |
| What the host handles | Collect cameras and arrange developing | Share the code and download the gallery |
| Physical prints | Ask the lab about its print options | Print downloaded photos separately |
A QR album is a collection method, not film. The result depends on what guests choose to share, while a camera needs to be passed around and collected.
Plan for the moments you want
| Your priority | A practical choice |
|---|---|
| Real film and a camera on the table | Disposable cameras |
| Guest photos and videos from different parts of the day | A QR album |
| Film keepsakes and phone photos together | A few cameras plus a QR album |
If you use film, ask your lab about developing, scans, prints and turnaround before the event. If you use OwnPix, share the link with your intended group: it can be forwarded, and anyone with it can view the gallery when it opens.
Give guests a clear next step
Place the QR code on a table card: “Scan to share your photos and videos.” If using cameras, designate a place to return them. Send the album link afterward for guests who prefer to upload later while the window is open.
