What the style means
A documentary approach looks for real interactions: a nervous laugh before the ceremony, a conversation at a table, or the dance floor late in the evening. Each photographer works differently, so ask what direction they give and when.
| Approach | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Mostly candid | How do you cover moments happening in different places? |
| Candid plus portraits | Can we set aside time for family groups? |
| Multiple photographers | Who covers each location and part of the day? |
Questions to ask before booking
Ask to see complete galleries from weddings with similar venues or lighting. Discuss the hours of coverage, backup arrangements, delivery timeline, and whether you can print or share the images. Put the agreed details in the contract.
Guest photos add a different point of view, but they do not replace the experience or delivery of a professional photographer. Tell guests when photography is welcome and when to give your photographer space.
