How to Make a Retirement Slideshow

Collect coworker and family photos for a retirement slideshow.

Create your event

Guests can share from their browser, with no app to download.

Plan the slideshow

  • Plan the story
  • Ask for photos
  • Arrange the moments
  • Test playback

The short answer

Start with a few chapters of the retiree’s story, then ask coworkers and family for photos. Choose a format and test it at the venue before the celebration.

A simple plan

Plan the story

Choose a few chapters or people to include.

Ask for photos

Send one clear request with a deadline.

Arrange the moments

Mix early memories, work, and life outside work.

Test playback

Check the screen and sound before guests arrive.

Give contributors a useful prompt

Ask former colleagues, family, and friends for one or two photos they would be happy to share. Include a deadline and one place to send them. A specific prompt, such as “a moment you remember working together,” is easier to answer than a request for every photo.

Choose a format

FormatUseful forPrepare

Printed displayA table guests can visitPrints, labels, and display space

Ask permission before displaying pictures, especially workplace photos that may include confidential information. If you add music to a video, check the rights for where it will be played or published.

Test the venue setup

Confirm who provides the screen, cables, and connection, and who will start the presentation. For a surprise event, coordinate the upload link and photo requests without including the retiree until it is time.

How OwnPix helps
